You remind me of the babe!

Can anyone guess what movie this quote is from? This movie was one of my favorites growing up. Anyways I was at Gap in the fall and saw this outfit which is very similar to the outfit the baby wore in this show, so I had to purchase it of course.  Jill, a good friend, suggested that we could use this as a halloween outfit for a family theme of this movie.  The problem would be deciding who would dress the David Bowie part, the spandex are quite a scary thought.  I don't think this idea will make it, thank goodness. :-)  Know what movie I'm talking about?

In the clips below Abby is sporting the cute outfit.  Bright colors really seem to shine on her with all that dark hair.

Sleep, How I Miss You!

Abby is four weeks old, as of yesterday.  We continue to work on the sleep issue. This week has been a little rough on Sunday and Monday nights I only got around 2 1/2 hours of sleep. I'm learning the hard way that you truly do need to sleep when the baby sleeps instead of trying to get other things done, otherwise you don't get sleep.

Last night though was a much needed break!  We had a fantastic dinner at some friends house and Abby was fascinated by the new surroundings. She was up for about 2 1/2 hours (probably one of her longest awake stretches so far!!!).  It paid off, I got a 4 1/2 hour stretch of wonderful sleep .  I remain hopeful that we will have an awake day so tonight may repeat last night.

When Abby is awake she is so much more alert.  She looks as though she focusing on things, where early on her eye would be open but there wasn't purpose behind them.  She is especially fascinated by fans and windows.

Here are some new pictures of little Abby.
Allie decided she needed to be in this picture as well.

Abby is ready for summer.

Abby throughly enjoying Easter.

I love the silly faces that she makes.

This one somewhat looks like a smile, although truthfully I think she was just about to cry here. She was done with pictures.

Also here is a short clip of Abby looking around. Notice at one point she follows the camera as I move it.

Home Alone

Tuesday was my first day to be home alone with Abby.  Things went really well.  It is funny, I felt like I was busy all day, but when I looked back on what I had done I don't think I accomplished a whole lot.  Taking a shower and getting laundry done takes a lot more effort now with worrying about Abby and soothing her if she starts to cry.

On the sleeping front, she loves to sleep...during the day.  On Tuesday she slept for 5 1/2 hours in the middle of the day and of course since she had gotten all of that sleeping out of her system she was up about every hour and a half, this made for a long night. Hopefully we can work on turning this around.

Abby had her two week doctors appointment yesterday and she a healthy little girl.  The doctor said they like to see babies back to their original birth weight and she surpassed that and is now 9 lbs 8 oz and 21 in. long!

And now a few photos...

My mom got this dress for Abby, we put it on Abby before she had to fly back home.  It's still a little big for her, but it's still cute.

Abby is so tiny!

Sleeping like the best of them!

Loving Life

Things are great! Abby is a wonderful baby, she rarely cries which makes her parents very happy, only when she needs to be fed or at bath time.  Here are a few new photos of our cutie!
The new family getting out to get a bit of fresh air.  Allie is taking care of her job to check on Abby.

Sunday we had beautiful weather. So we took advantage of it to get some fresh air and went for a short walk.  This is one of the many very cute outfits that my Aunt sent for Abby. The sweater was great to have for taking her outside. As you can see she still has a little growing before the bonnet will fit.

Pucker those lips.

Happy Baby

Okay mom, really another picture?

Introducing Abby!

The long awaited day has finally arrived, and we are proud to introduce to the world Abby! She was born on Tuesday March 17th, St. Patrick's Day! Peggy began having some contractions around 11:00 Monday night, and we made our way to the hospital around 4 in the morning. By about 6:30 a.m. Peggy wanted to start pushing, but we were trying to wait for our doctor, who wouldn't be at the hospital until 7:00. Luckily he arrived shortly after 7:00, and after a relatively short labor (I can call it short as the Dad) Abby was delivered at 8:09! Peggy delivered Abby completely naturally, and she did an awesome job. She is 20 inches long, weighs 8 lbs. 13 oz., and she is absolutely perfect according to her parents! Below are some pictures and a short video of our new daughter!

Abby and a happy Peggy.

Officially on Maternity Leave

We are 5 days out from our due date.  All the excitement for Abby coming early has played out to not be such a big deal.  Its been quite the mental game the past two weeks but the one thing about this all is I can't stay pregnant forever!  We are scheduled next Wednesday, the 18th, to have my water broken which will get things moving if nothing happens before then.  My doctor is convinced I will not make it till then, but I have a feeling I will.

Last Friday was my last day of school for the year.  It's been a bit strange this week, not going into work and missing to see my kiddos each day, but I have really enjoyed having the time to relax and get some cleaning done around the house.  I know that once the baby arrives it will be a while before I experience the "R" word again so I'm doing my best to enjoy it for now.

To practice up loading video here is a clip of our two dogs, Callie and Allie.  Allie (corgi) is usually the one that is the dominant dog. But for some reason Callie decided that she wanted the toy (very unlike her) and was not about to let Allie have it.

The Belly!

Well no change since the last post.  I have another doctors appointment tomorrow so it will be interesting to see what's going on.  Although I'm not going to get my hopes up.  I am finding that my to do list just keeps growing as times goes on regardless of how much I get done, so I've decided to not worry about it now.

Here are a few baby bump picture of me at 36 weeks.

Lisa and NaCole this post is for you guys.  Miss and love you both!
