The Belly!

Well no change since the last post.  I have another doctors appointment tomorrow so it will be interesting to see what's going on.  Although I'm not going to get my hopes up.  I am finding that my to do list just keeps growing as times goes on regardless of how much I get done, so I've decided to not worry about it now.

Ready or Not!

Yesterday we had the first of our weekly visits to the doctor.  Much to her procrastinating parents surprise, it is looking as though Abby will be here sooner than expected.  Her due date is March 17th, but yesterday when the doctor checked my cervix I was 70% effaced and 2-3 centimeters dilated already! This was quite the shocker.  Now it is very common to stay this way for several weeks, but the doctor said that it was very unlikely that Abby will be waiting around till her due date.  He said that he thinks it still might be two more weeks, but you never know he could be seeing me tomorrow morning.  

Well the good news is that its tomorrow morning right now and I'm not seeing him. Ideally we would like Abby to "cook" just a bit longer, but we are very excited to possibly be meeting Abby a little sooner than expected.  The challenge now is trying to tackle everything on my to do list before she arrives, I was counting on those four weeks. :-) I will keep you posted.

Abby's Room

Our goal over Christmas break was to get Abby's room done for the most part so it would be one less thing to worry about.  Grant did a wonderful job painting the walls.  They are a sage green although in the pictures the walls look a little gray.  While Grant was working on the room I worked on painting the canvases.  At first I thought I could knock them out in an afternoon but soon learned I was dreaming I could do them that fast, and instead devoted a good several days to them.  But that being so I am very happy with how they turned out.  Grant also put his electrical skills to use and installed the lighting.  We found the lamp shades at IKEA.  They really turned out great.

The fantastic lighting job Grant completed.  They even are on a dimmer!

So I can't quite figure out how to how to get the text and pictures in the correct order. As I am impatient and it has taken forever to upload everything I am going to leave as is...sorry. After all the pictures is the post explaining everything.

What a week it has been. It all began with a simple wish of A snow day (notice how I said a...meaning singular). Now with four snow days behind me I'm hoping to return to school tomorrow.

Last week on Monday the ice started to fall and we were let out of school an hour early. The ice continued to fall throughout the night and all of Tuesday. Once it finally stopped icing Springdale accumulated 1.50" of ice. Now this is a lot of ice that is not very forgiving on trees and power lines. We lost power 11:00 a.m. Tuesday and were without power till Friday at 6:20 p.m.. We braved the first night with our gas fire place, but turned it off at night while we were under our warm covers and woke up to a house that was 55 degrees. Some wonderful friends who made it through the storm with power welcomed not only us, but our two pups, a warm place to stay while our house remained an igloo.
